What one court costs
An outdoor pickleball court in India usually costs between ₹4.5 lakh and ₹12 lakh. The main parts:
- Base: a level concrete or asphalt base, usually ₹1.5 to 3 lakh.
- Acrylic surface: cushioned layers and line marking, usually ₹2 to 5 lakh.
- Fencing: ₹1 to 3 lakh.
- Lights: ₹1 to 2 lakh. Without lights, you lose the evening, which is the best-paying time.
Indoor courts cost more because of the roof and flooring, but they play all year, through summer heat and monsoon.
How a court earns
Courts are booked by the hour, usually by groups of 4. Many owners add coaching batches for beginners, which brings regular monthly income.
The risk nobody talks about
Because courts are cheap, many open in the same area at the same time. The first court in a neighbourhood fills easily. The fifth court within 2 km fights for the same groups on price. Before you build, count the courts already within a 15-minute drive and look at how fast new ones are coming.
Who plays
Pickleball is played mostly by adults: working professionals, couples and older players. Look for areas with offices, residential societies and higher household income nearby.
